Job Summary
The St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Club Manager who excels at organization, communication, and providing the highest standards of service to our club members and the public. The Club Manager organizes and runs club activities and is responsible for communication to members and the public via emails, website, and social media.
The Club Manager reports directly to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall daily club operations, ensuring the club runs smoothly and is ready for events.
- Respond to general emails and phone calls.
- Respond to emails and calls from members, assisting members with league registration, event registration, and membership renewal as needed.
- Schedule and run a wide variety of events for members and the public, including but not limited to tournaments, parties, and Friday nights.
- Manage membership database, mail membership cards, and welcome new members.
- Create communications for members, including newsletter, email, website and portal updates.
- Schedule staff for rentals, open hours, and other events.
- Share social media duties.
- Coordinate with Volunteer Manager to identify volunteer needs and schedule volunteers.
- Coordinate with Rental Manager to schedule staff and ensure club is ready for private events.
- Purchase supplies for the club, such as cleaning, kitchen, and shuffleboard supplies.
- Some evenings and weekends are required, staff shares this responsibility.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- HS diploma.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks and juggle a complicated event schedule.
- Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills: the ability to work effectively with other staff, vendors, volunteers, and members.
- A genuine love of working with people! Enthusiasm, passion for the club, self-motivation, a professional demeanor, highly organized and detail oriented.
- Experience with membership management is highly desirable.
- Event experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to prioritize problems and problem-solve quickly, sometimes right in the middle of an event.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and able to adapt to new systems quickly.
- Availability to work varied shifts, including some evenings and weekends.
Compensation
This is a full-time job, starting at $40,000 - $45,000 a year, depending on experience. We offer a health insurance stipend and a generous paid time off package.

Founded in 1924, the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club is a historic recreational club in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. It has the distinction of being the oldest and largest shuffleboard club in the world. The organization provides recreational use of the club to 2,700 members and the pubic, resulting in approximately 40,000 visits a year. We offer league play, lessons, history talks, and other events to preserve the historic facility and preserve and promote the game of shuffleboard.
